A few weeks ago we got a call from our Skoda dealership to say that Skoda were having a supply issue with beige leather and was no longer available and was black leather okay to continue the order, we said yes. Then soon after was told that the build date was being pushed back a few days and that the planned 1st of March delivery date was no longer achievable.

Fast forward to today. Got a delivery date of 2nd of March.

Soon Piglet will be ours (named after the letters on the licence plate chosen).

TBH, and I know you love cleaning cars, but light coloured leather is a pain in the ass, it can look dirty after just one pair of new jeans has sat on it, plus I've never been all that fond of VAG's choice of shade in their tan (beige!) leathers, black is much better in a Superb! Excited for you though that the delivery date is getting closer. My brother had to wait nearly a year for his VW Caravelle after he ordered it due to, amongst other things, fires in various factories that make parts for them!

I use a leather sealant to reduce/remove the risk of dye transfer so it wouldn’t of been an issue.

The new Superb is a resounding success and everyone is having their orders pushed back from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. So I’m thankful it only turned out to be a one day delay.

What leather sealant do you use?

I didn’t mind black leather, good thing I live in the North of USA, or I would melt in the summer.

It was only the other day that I saw my first new Superb.

Gtechniq L1AB. It seals the leather and has an anti bacterial element.

They were released in the U.K. last September. It was later for Ireland.

Very well specked and priced.

Certain Euro cars aren’t available in the U.K. namely the 1.8TSi manual or DSG, while certain U.K. cars aren’t available or different spec in Ireland.

Yes, nobody buys anything here after about September because they’re waiting for 2016.

Of course, just realised. Ireland has year identifier the licence plates.
